A grain truck unloading incident led to a 'dust explosion' at a Tyson Foods plant in Franklin County, resulting in a fire that injured one person. This event occurred on the past Saturday, August 31, as reported by WSMV. The explosion started beneath the vehicle and quickly spread to the grain hopper, which is connected to an on-site grain silo, and subsequently ignited the additional grain stored in the facility.

Emergency services swiftly addressed the situation, extinguishing the fire before it could inflict further damage to the Tyson plant. According to WKRN, one individual suffered burns during the incident and was taken to a local hospital for treatment. The details regarding the extent of their injuries are currently undisclosed.

Mutual aid was a crucial component in handling the emergency, with several fire departments rapidly assembling and coordinating their efforts to quell the flames. "We extend our sincere thanks to our own fire department, as well as Capitol Hill Fire, Decherd Fire, Winchester Fire and North Franklin County Fire Departments, for their swift and coordinated response," the Estill Springs Police Department acknowledged in a statement obtained by FOX 17.

At this time, the Tyson Foods plant management has not released further details about the incident, including specific damages incurred by the facility.
